One of Benedict’s specialties is working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, of which he is also a part. He understands the unique challenges and experiences faced by this community, and he is committed to providing a welcoming, affirming, and culturally aware space for his clients. Benedict has extensive experience working with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship problems, and identity concerns. He is also passionate about helping individuals and couples who are struggling with issues related to sexuality, gender identity, and coming out.

Some of the issues that Benedict can help patients with include, but are not limited to:

Anxiety

Benedict can help patients manage symptoms of anxiety, such as excessive worry, restlessness, irritability, and difficulty concentrating. He can also help patients address specific anxiety disorders, such as generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, and panic disorder.

Depression

He may assist patients with symptoms of depression, such as feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and worthlessness, as well as changes in appetite, sleep patterns, and energy levels. He can also help patients address specific types of depression, such as major depressive disorder, persistent depressive disorder, and seasonal affective disorder.

Trauma

Benedict has experience working with patients who have experienced trauma, including childhood trauma, sexual abuse, and other forms of violence. He can help patients process their experiences, manage symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), such as flashbacks, nightmares, and hypervigilance, and develop coping strategies to promote healing and recovery. Mood disorders

This registered MFT intern can support patients manage symptoms of mood disorders, such as bipolar disorder and cyclothymia, which can cause extreme shifts in mood, energy, and activity levels. He can also help patients address related symptoms, such as impulsivity, risk-taking behavior, and difficulty with interpersonal relationships.

Personality disorders

He can provide help with symptoms of personality disorders, such as borderline personality disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, and avoidant personality disorder. He can help patients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are impacted by their personality disorder and develop strategies to improve their relationships and overall functioning.

Addiction

He can address issues with addiction to substances, such as alcohol and drugs, as well as behavioral addictions, such as gambling and sex addiction. He can help patients understand the underlying causes of their addiction, develop coping strategies to manage cravings and triggers, and build a support system to promote long-term recovery.

Relationship problems

He is capable of helping patients address a wide range of relationship problems, including communication difficulties, trust issues, and conflicts related to intimacy, sexuality, and infidelity. He can also help patients navigate the challenges of non-traditional relationships, such as polyamory and open relationships.

Identity issues

He can guide patient towards exploring and understanding their sexual orientation and gender identity, navigate the coming out process, and address internalized homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia. He can also help patients manage symptoms related to LGBTQIA+ identity, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma.

Cultural pressures

He may be of service for patients to address the impact of cultural pressures on their mental health, including issues related to immigration, acculturation, and discrimination. He can help patients understand how their cultural background may be influencing their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and develop strategies to cope with cultural stressors.
